DnD Character Maker: Your original character

DnD Character Maker

The picture for your character sheet and a matching token. Any ancestry, any class, in full body.

Skin tone

A D&D character has two halves: the numbers and the person. Rule books and sheet builders handle the numbers. This page handles the part they leave blank, the appearance box.

To be clear, this maker does not roll stats or fill in a sheet. It makes the picture. It opens on Skin and ears so you can set the ancestry first.

Filling in the appearance section

A sheet asks for a handful of physical details. Decide them here and copy them across.

  • Ancestry: ears, horns, tail and skin color.
  • Hair and eyes: style and color, written the way your table would describe them.
  • Distinguishing marks: a Scar, Freckles, a Beauty mark, a Bandage.
  • Clothing: what they wear on the road, which usually follows class and background.
  • One carried item: the Scarf, Necklace or hat with a story behind it.

Background shapes the outfit

Two fighters do not dress alike if one was a noble and the other a sailor. Use the background to choose clothes. Nobles get the Blazer or a Crown. Folk heroes and outlanders get the plain Tunic and Boots. Scholars get Round glasses and a Long skirt or robe-like Dress. Criminals and urchins get the Hoodie, patched colors and an Eye mask.

Portrait, token and handout

Three downloads cover everything a campaign needs. The full body image goes on your sheet. The PFP crop becomes your token on a virtual tabletop. A Transparent full body version can be dropped into a party line-up or a campaign wiki. Save the Copy link too, because characters change: a new scar after a hard fight, a cloak after a good one.
