Genshin Character Maker

Fans of Genshin Impact like to design characters as if they were about to be released: a name, an element, a weapon, a star rating and a kit. The picture is the first thing in that package, the way a character's splash art is the first thing players see.

Use the maker for the picture, then fill in the card below it. It opens on the Top tab, because outfit detail is what the game's designs are known for.

The character card

Write these next to your picture and you have a complete fan concept.

• Name and title. A short title that hints at their story.
• Element: Pyro, Hydro, Anemo, Electro, Dendro, Cryo or Geo.
• Weapon: sword, claymore, polearm, bow or catalyst.
• Rarity: four or five stars. Five-star designs are usually more ornate.
• Role: main damage, sub damage, support or healer.
• Region and affiliation.

Design from the element outward

Take the element's color as your accent and place it in two or three spots: a Necklace, a sash, a Bow. Then choose a main outfit color that lets the accent show. Dark outfits with a bright accent suit Pyro and Electro. White and pale outfits suit Cryo and Anemo. Hair can match the element or deliberately clash with it.

Naming the kit

Each playable character has a normal attack, an elemental skill and an elemental burst, each with a name that reflects their personality. A cook might have skills named after dishes. A scholar might quote books. Naming three abilities forces you to decide what your character is like in a fight, which then feeds back into the design.
