Every D&D player ends up searching for a portrait. A character sheet has a space for one, virtual tabletops need a token, and describing your character goes better when the table can see them. Picrew makers became the usual answer because they are fast.

This maker is set up for the same job. It opens on the Top tab, since class shows mostly through clothing, and it has the ears, horns, tails and wings that fantasy ancestries need.

A look for each class

These combinations read as their class at a glance. Adjust colors to taste.

  • Wizard: Witch hat, Tunic, Long skirt, Round glasses.
  • Sorcerer or Warlock: Dress or Blazer, Choker, unusual eye color, Horns for a fiendish patron.
  • Cleric or Paladin: Tunic, Cape, Halo or Crown, white and gold.
  • Fighter or Barbarian: Tank top or Tunic, Boots, a Scar, Thick brows.
  • Rogue: Open jacket or Hoodie in dark colors, Eye mask, Scarf.
  • Ranger or Druid: Tunic in green or brown, Leggings, Boots, a Flower or animal ears.
  • Bard: Jester hat or bright Blazer, Bow tie, a Wink.
  • Monk: Kimono, bare feet, Short crop hair.

Ancestry parts

Elves and half-elves use Elf or Long elf ears. Tieflings use Horns, a Demon tail and red, blue or purple skin, covered in detail on the tiefling page. Aasimar get a Halo and Angel wings. Orcs and goblins use green skin with a Fang. Tabaxi and other beast folk use Cat or Fox ears with the matching tail.

Tokens and sheets

For a virtual tabletop token, press PFP, choose a Solid background in your character's color and download the square. Tabletops crop tokens to circles, so the portrait frame works well. For a character sheet or handout, stay in Full body and use the Transparent background.
