Hair color

Friday Night Funkin' characters are designed to be read in a split second while arrows fly up the screen. Flat colors, huge hair, tiny simple eyes and one strong pose. The mod scene has added a huge number of fan opponents, and each one is essentially an OC with a song list.

The maker opens on Bangs, because hair is the biggest shape on an FNF character. Keep the outfit simple and spend the effort on the head.

What an opponent needs

An opponent is a design and a concept together.

A reason to sing: rival musician, protective relative, cursed object, bored celebrity.
Two or three flat colors: a bright hair color against a plain shirt works best.
One prop or feature: Headphones, Horns, Sunglasses or animal ears. This is what players remember.
A mood per song: opponents usually get angrier or stranger as their week goes on.

Faces in the FNF style

Dot eyes are the closest match to the game's look. Pair them with an Open grin for a confident singer or a Frown for a reluctant one. Brows do most of the acting, so try Angry brows for a final-song version. Skip blush and freckles. The style is too flat for small details.

Plan the week

Mods usually present an opponent across three songs that rise in difficulty. Make a version of your OC for each: calm, annoyed, and furious or transformed. Change the brows, the mouth and the background color between them and copy each link. Three pictures of the same character tell the story of the week.
